Belotero in Frisco, TX: The Smoother Solution
Belotero is a next generation hyaluronic acid filler used to treat wrinkles and folds on the skin. It’s different from other hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm and Restylane in that it can be injected into the uppermost part of the skin, treating superficial, fine lines. Until Belotero, filler that was injected superficially would leave behind a bluish tint in the skin and sometimes lumps and uneven texture. Some of the characteristics that make Belotero different from other HA fillers include its degree of gel hardness and cohesiveness. The very elastic and cohesive properties of Belotero Balance allow for the gel to be injected and spread evenly across the targeted area and into the surrounding tissues for a smoother result.
One of the hallmarks of youthful skin is its moisture content, and naturally occurring hyaluronic acid maintains that moisture in our skin. However, as we age, our body’s production of HA slows and our skin loses moisture, resulting in wrinkles and a loss of firmness. Hyaluronic acid fillers replace this loss to improve your skin’s moisture content and strengthen the outer layers of your skin, making it firmer and more plump.
Belotero is a softer filler, which is what makes it so smooth and easy to glide into place, and while it’s used to enhance certain areas of the face like the lip line, it’s not primarily used to add a lot of volume. Belotero is used to treat:
- Nasolabial folds
- Vertical lip lines
- Vermillion border – lip line
- Enhance volume in lips
- Corner of the mouth lines
- Smile lines
- Chin wrinkles
- Crow’s feet
- Backs of hands & décolletage
Belotero lasts about 6 to 9 months. The procedure takes about 30 minutes in our Frisco office, and you can resume normal activity immediately following treatment. Possible side effects are swelling, redness and bruising, but these effects should dissipate within a week.
