Voluma in Frisco, TX

Voluma is an FDA-approved filler by Juvéderm that is used to treat volume loss and deep wrinkles in the face. It’s made from hyaluronic acid like other Juvéderm products. However, Voluma is longer-lasting and is injected deeper into the skin.
Voluma has a thicker consistency than many other fillers on the market. Its thickness is what gives Voluma longer-lasting results as a great filler for restoring volume. Its primary uses are:
- Correct volume loss in the temples
- Enhance volume in the chin
- Correct jowls
- Firm up the jawbone
- Enhance volume on the cheekbones
Voluma is meant to restore the youthful appearance to the “heart of the face”: smooth. high cheekbones and a well-defined jaw. As the filler is placed deep within the tissues, it adds support to the overlying skin and restores facial contours.
Voluma works best in patients that have facial volume loss due to aging or extreme weight loss. It’s also for anyone with asymmetrical facial features who wants to achieve balance. A consultation with Dr. White will determine if you’re a good candidate for Voluma.

Voluma injections are performed in the office by Dr. White and usually take 30 – 45 minutes. The procedure is practically painless due to the use of both a topical anesthetic as well as an anesthetic that’s in the product itself. The treatments involve very small needles that inject Voluma into the skin. After Dr. White injects the Voluma, she then massages the area to ensure that it is properly distributed. Patients may return to normal activities immediately after the treatment. Possible side effects include swelling of the skin around the injection site, redness, bruising (which may be increased if you’re taking blood thinners), bumps, and skin irritation. However, these side effects should pass within a week.
Voluma lasts from 18 months to 2 years.
