Xeomin for Severe Frown Lines

Xeomin Frisco Texas

Our office is one of the first in North Texas to offer Xeomin!

Xeomin is the latest treatment with botulinum toxin type A, the same active component in popular products like Botox® and Dysport®. Xeomin is an injectable treatment that reduces wrinkles and fine lines by temporarily relaxing the muscle. Azure Med Spa is the first office in Frisco and North Texas to offer the revolutionary injectable, Xeomin. The following are the top FAQs about Xeomin.

What is Xeomin?

Xeomin contains just one ingredient: botulinum toxin A. Unlike its competitors, Xeomin is a “naked injectable,” meaning that it does not contain any additives. The major benefit of a pure-form injectable is that the human body is less likely to become resistant to Xeomin because there are simply less ingredients in the solution. The most common area of treatment is frown lines between the eyes but usage in other areas is common. It may also be used to treat excessive underarm sweating.

How does the treatment work?

Xeomin temporarily reduces the muscular contractions that cause wrinkles resulting in the overlying skin becoming smoother. It is most effective at smoothing the lines caused by years of moving these muscles on a regular basis. Several tiny Xeomin injections are placed directly into the muscles responsible for these lines and wrinkles. Your trusted physician will determine which muscles to inject for optimal results.

Is Xeomin safe?

Xeomin is very safe with few side effects. Rare side effects may include headache, flu symptoms and temporary eyelid droop.

Will there be any downtime?

You should refrain from vigorous exercise or laying flat for a few hours following treatment but may otherwise resume normal activities. Xeomin has no downtime and little to no pain or discomfort. Results can be seen within 7-10 days following only one session.

How long does a Xeomin treatment last?

Xeomin treatment will generally last for two to three months and depends on the number of areas injected and the size of the treated areas.  Maintenance treatments every few months are recommended for longer lasting results.

How does the treatment feel?

The actual treatment with Xeomin can be quite brief and in most cases, can be completed in about 15 minutes. The only discomfort is a slight pin-prick sensation from the small needle injecting the Xeomin. While usually not necessary, ice or a topical anesthetic may be applied prior to treatment.

Who should avoid Xeomin?

Xeomin should not be injected if you have an infection at the site, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or with certain neurologic conditions. Your physician should be advised of your medical history before receiving Xeomin.
