Everybody has an opinion about Botox. Some like it, some don’t – but whatever naysayers say about it, no one can deny its unrivaled results in terms of smoothing out wrinkles.
Botox is quite effective and is widely known as one of the safest medication that can make fine and deep lines go away, at least for a certain period of time. For most men and women who get a Botox injection, its effects can last up to six months. The question is: is Botox worth it when you’re in your 20s?
Dermatologists who champion preventative Botox would tell you that taking care of your skin is like caring for a luxury car. You would need to visit the mechanic every now and then to keep it in good working condition for years to come. It is important to note that not everyone agrees with this analogy. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t have Botox while you’re in your 20s because you can if you want to.
Age is Just a Number
Every person is different and the rate skin ages differ from one person to the next. Age is just a number and it is not the determining factor whether it’s time to get Botox or not. It all depends on genetics, skin type, race, and lifestyle.
Dermatologists agree that age doesn’t matter when it comes to deciding whether it’s time to get a Botox injection. They also agree that those with hyper-mobile faces can start getting treatment at age 28 if they choose to. It can be earlier, though, because dermatologists treat what is in front of them.
The general rule is to start Botox when some lines are starting to stick around while the face is at rest. For some, this can happen in the mid-twenties while others get fine lines at the age of 30 or even older. If you are genetically predisposed to wrinkles, it is best to pay close attention to changes.
